About NearbyLA

Los Angeles is really dozens of neighborhoods stitched together, and what's "nearby" in Koreatown is a world away from what's nearby in San Pedro. NearbyLA brings the local stuff onto one map and one search:

• Jobs and gigs — full-time roles and one-off tasks posted near you.
• Food trucks — who's rolling, and where.
• EV charging — every public station, Tesla and non-Tesla, with driver "did it work?" reports.
• Parking — rates, time limits, and where to actually leave the car.
• Events and locally-loved spots — things to do and places worth your time.

There's also an LA-savvy AI assistant that searches across all of it at once — ask it for "cheap parking near a show in Hollywood" and it'll pull from every vertical.

A discovery site is only worth using if you can trust what it says. So we're upfront about where data comes from. Some of it we gather from public and partner sources — EV charging from OpenChargeMap, parking from city open data, job listings aggregated from feeds like Adzuna alongside posts made directly on NearbyLA. We clean it, de-duplicate it, and place it on the map as accurately as we can.

What we don't do is dress aggregated public data up as something it isn't, or inflate numbers to look bigger. When we show a count, it's the real count. When something is sparse, we'd rather tell you than pad it. That principle guides every decision here.

NearbyLA is an independent project built in Los Angeles, for Los Angeles. It's small and growing, and feedback from locals shapes what we build next. If something's wrong, missing, or could be better, we want to hear it.
